Some say size doesn't matter. But when it comes to locks, it certainly does! The Oxford BEAST is so big that there is a warning label on the packaging: CAUTION – HEAVY! The lock alone weighs 3.6 kg, and the chain weighs between 12 kg and 15.5 kg!

If you have a lock that's a beast, you need a chain that's a beast too. The Beast chain wouldn't look out of place on a ship's anchor. It's our biggest and strongest chain ever. The 22 mm thick hardened steel chain links weigh as much as a bag of sugar each. The links are covered with a protective sleeve to prevent damage to paintwork.

The Beast padlock, chain and anchor have been awarded the Sold Secure DIAMOND rating, ensuring that they can withstand violent and sustained attacks. Achieving a DIAMOND rating is no easy feat. The Beast has passed attack tests using a variety of tools commonly used by thieves, including bolt cutters, drills and, most impressively, a 90-second attack with an angle grinder.

The international security standards organisation ART has awarded The Beast 5 stars. ART awards a rating from 1 to 5 (5 being the highest) based on a variety of tests conducted by both machines (tensile strength, torsion strength, cutting, corrosion, dust and freeze tests) and test engineers (brute force and intelligent attack tests).
